“Our program is excited to officially welcome the incoming class of 2023!" head coach Kara Mupo said. "This class will bring a high level of talent as well as a steadfast commitment to the vision we have for the future of Mason lacrosse on the field, in the classroom and amongst the community. 🔼 Setting the Course. The journey to the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championships is now set for the Mason cross country teams with the release of their fall slate.
The Patriots will tackle four regional events before heading to Dayton at the end of October for the A-10 meet.
The NCAA Regional meet will be two weeks later in Spartanburg, S.C. for a chance to advance to the NCAA Championships.
🔼 Tomorrow, Tomorrow, You’re Only A Day Away! We’ve highlighted how Mason assistant coach Alyssa Whitehead’s name is already a part of the Jamaican history books.
That history takes another step forward tomorrow when Whitehead and the Jamaican national team take on Colombia in the Round of 16.
As part of the defensive coaching staff and in charge of the keepers, Whitehead’s unit has been spectacular, not allowing a goal in the entire opening round stage.
Game time against the Colombians is set for 4 A.M.
The game can be found on FoxSports.com.

⏱ PATRIOT COUNTDOWN: 15 DAYS
We are counting down the days to start of the 2023-2024 athletic calendar with some of the best moments, stars, and much more from Mason history.
Don’t Mess With Texas. With just 10 days left until the start of the Patriots athletic calendar, it’s time to highlight one of our own no. 10s… Katarina Teahen.
Teahen is a rising junior on the Mason volleyball team that gives the squad valuable depth at the middle blocker and right side hitter spots.
In her first two years, she’s appeared in four matches, notching two kills, two blocks, two digs and a service ace.
She hails from Katy, Texas, where she was a two-year varsity letterwinner at Seven Lakes, where they finished 25-1 to claim the state championship during her senior season.
🤔 PATRIOT TRIVIA
What A Time. 10 years ago this fall, the Mason men’s soccer team captured the Atlantic 10 Championship in dramatic fashion.
It was the school’s first A-10 title overall and the first conference championship for the men’s soccer program since 2008. In the title game, the Patriots defense locked down a potent Saint Louis attack, and with less than 10 minutes to play, a converted PK proved to be the difference.
Mason would go on to win their first round game at William & Mary, before dropping a tough contest at New Mexico in the second round.
Now, the question is… who is the former Patriot that scored the PK game winner in the A-10 title game?
Got a guess?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: Alex Herrera.
Herrera was a two-time All-Atlantic 10 performer on the backline for Mason, but it was his game winner in the 82nd minute on the PK that will always be one of his most powerful moments for the Patriots.
Let’s have a great week, ya’ll!
