🔼 All In The Family. Family bonds run deep.

No matter the year. No matter the circumstance. Families stick together.

That bond is what the George Mason men’s basketball program was built on and its meant something special to the former Patriots to have one of their one at the helm.

In the first episode of “Keepin’ It In The Family” some of the all-time greats sit down to talk about having Coach Skinn running the show.

🔼 What’s On Deck. The road to the A10 Championships start now.

Well, it actually starts about a month from now, but we know have the schedule for said road as the Mason swimming & diving squads announced their 2023-24 schedule.

Four local meets, including three home meets, highlight a competitive schedule that will prepare the Patriots for the Atlantic 10 Championships in Hampton in late February.

🔼 Thursday Night Futbol. Before the NFL takes over Thursday nights, we have plenty of futbol action going on.

Both our Patriot soccer squads are in action on Thursday night with difficult road tests facing off two perennial NCAA Tournament teams.

The women’s team heads to in-state rival William & Mary for a 7 pm showdown, while the men travel to Charlottesville to battle with #15 UVA at 8 pm.

Bring on November.

🤔 PATRIOT TRIVIA

Got Any Pointers? A week from tonight, our new leader Marvin Lewis will take the mound at Nats Park.

Don’t worry, he’s not pitching for the Nationals, but he will be throwing out the first pitch at the annual Mason Night with the Washington Nationals.

He might have to call in a few tips before the big night and we’ve got a few former Patriots he can connect with.

Three former Mason stars pitched in the MLB, which one of those three tossed the most innings in the big leagues?

Got a guess?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Our very own, Coach Camp!

That’s right, Coach Camp, who will enter his fifth season at Mason this upcoming year, tossed 592.1 innings for five different MLB teams over 11 seasons. He averaged over 60 appearances a year, including a career-high 80 with the Chicago Cubs in 2012.

Let’s make sure we get Marvin on a mound this week with Coach Camp!
