📈 STOCK UP
🔺 Class Acts. There was plenty of successful moments on the field of competition this past year for the Green & Gold.
That success was carried into the classroom as the Patriots once again shined in the annual APR rankings released by the NCAA.
Four programs produced perfect multi-year NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores of 1,000 while a total of 11 teams had a perfect APR for the 2022-23 academic year.
The Academic Progress Report score is a rolling four-year average of each team and its athletes' progress toward graduation. Teams that score below 930 are subject to penalties, which can include ineligibility for postseason competition.
🔺 He’s A Real (All)American. Move over Hulk Hogan, we’ve got a real All-American on the mat.
Rising senior Drew Dickson earned All-American honors at the U20/U23 World Team Trials recently at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
After winning five matches, Dickson earned a seventh-place finish, the best of any Patriot at the event.
The champions of the World Team Trials will represent the United States at the upcoming U20 and U23 World Championships.
Scheduled for September 2-8, the U20 World Championships will be held at the Pontevedra Municipal Sports Hall in Pontevedra, Spain, while the U23 World Championships are slated to return to Tirana, Albania, from October 21-27.
🔺 Helping Hands. After one of the best seasons in recent history, the Mason wrestling program got even better this week.
Coach Beasley announced the addition of former NCAA Champion and All-American Dean Heil as head assistant coach for the Green & Gold.
A former Oklahoma State standout, Heil is a two-time National Champion and three-time All-American at 141 pounds. The Brunswick, Ohio native is a four-time World Team Qualifier and 2016 Olympic Trials Qualifier.
Heil becomes the only wrestling coach in the Mid-American Conference to win a NCAA Division I National Championship.
He captured back-to-back NCAA titles in 2016 and 2017, as well as three consecutive All-America campaigns from 2015-17. He finished his decorated career with 116 wins, ranking 22nd all-time in OSU program history. The 2018 Oklahoma State graduate is also a four-time NWCA All-Academic Team member.
