🔼 Coaching Up. After a record-setting season in more ways than we can count—George Mason softball’s coaching staff was honored with the ATEC/NFCA Division I Regional Coaching Staff of the Year award. This is the first time the program has earned this award.

Led by head coach Justin Walker and assistants Campbell Hutcherson and Dominique Travers, the Patriots this season won their first Atlantic 10 title in program history and made their NCAA tournament debut at the Durham Regional. And the team’s 35 wins is also tied for the third-most wins in a single season in program history and most in over two decades.

After joining George Mason women’s basketball as an assistant coach in 2021, Demetria Frank has been promoted to also be the team’s recruiting coordinator.

In her two years with the team, she’s helped the Patriots to their first winning record in four seasons and a pair of victories in the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Tournament victory—something the team hasn’t done since the 2017-2018 season.
