Softball, rings, seafood and BBQ? What’s not to love???

Mason’s softball program will be hosting the annual Mason Softball Fest, this Saturday, Oct. 7 at 4:30 pm at the Patriots Softball Complex right here in Fairfax.

Fans and supporters are encouraged to join the Patriots for an exciting evening – capped off by the presentation of the ring ceremony celebrating the program's first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship.

Fans can enjoy a night at the softball field with seafood boil, barbecue and fun yard games.

🔼 Rammin’ It Home. Big time performance.

No other way to describe it for sophomore Asparuh Slavov, who posted a career-best two goals in a critical 4-2 home victory over the Rams of Rhode Island on Wednesday night in Fairfax.

Junior Souley Diouf tallied his team-leading fourth goal of the year and grad student Luis Maestre fired home his first goal to put the finishing touches on the win.

🔼 Talkin’ Hoops. Folks, we are 3️⃣1️⃣ days away from Mason Hoops.

We are PUMPED and can’t wait to see Coach Skinn and the Green & Gold return to the court.

Coach Skinn recently sat down to talk hoops and give a sneak peek of the upcoming season.

🔼 She’sss Baccckkk. Veteran Nani Spaar returned to the court for the first time in a month and did so with vengeance.

Spaar unleashed a career-high 20 kills and has now posted double-digit kills in 10 of her 11 matches this season. Teammates Gabriella Gelfound (19) and Haley Graetz (6) also had career-highs in kills, but A-10 rival George Washington pulled out a five-set battle on Wednesday night, 3-2, over the Green & Gold.

Spaar and Gelfound tallied double-doubles with 10 digs for Spaar and Gelfound dished out 21 assists.

🔼 Road Weekend. While the Patriots softball squad is hosting their Softball Fest, plenty of Green & Gold squads will be hitting the road for tough tests.

Swimming & diving opens up the season at Towson, while women’s soccer returns to Philly to face La Salle (1 pm), volleyball travels to Dayton (7 pm) and men’s soccer is in Pittsburgh to take on Duquesne (7 pm).

💚 MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS

Mason athletics is proud to partner with Hilinski's Hope for the 2023 Student Athlete Mental Health Week.

Hilinski's Hope Foundation was started as a non-profit organization formed to promote awareness and education of mental health and wellness for student-athletes.

Their vision is to help universities save lives, eliminate stigma, and scale mental wellness programs for student-athletes.

🌟 MASON MADNESS IS BACK!

There’s an excitement building in the air and that excitement will reach fever pitch on Friday, Oct. 13th.

Mason Madness is BACK!

On Friday, October 13 at 7 p.m., EagleBank Arena will host the official kick-off to George Mason men's and women's basketball season. Mason Madness is presented by The Main on University. The Main on University is Mason Nations Official Student Housing Partner Located across from the Field House just steps from campus.
 
Mason fans will be introduced to the student-athletes from each team and hear from new men's basketball head coach Tony Skinn ('06) and women's basketball head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis. Each team also will take part in a scrimmage on the EagleBank Arena floor.
 
In addition, Mason Athletics will welcome back the Green Machine for performances throughout the evening. The event also will feature performances from Mason Spirit and a variety of George Mason student organizations.
 
Mason Madness is free for all attendees and no ticket is required. The first 2000 fans in attendance will receive a complimentary Mason glow stick!

Also on hand at Mason Madness will be Uber Eats, the Virginia Army National Guard and many other proud partners of Patriot Athletics.
