🔺 DJ! Turn Up! Not many burst onto the scene in the first year of their collegiate career.

But not everyone is DJ McGee.

McGee had a tremendous season topped by a second-place finish at the MAC Championship, earning an automatic bid to represent the Patriots at the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Wrestling Championships.

Because of his outstanding season, McGee voted Freshman of the Year, announced by the Mid-American Conference this week.

It marks the second straight year that Mason has won the accolade after Nate Higley took home the honor last season.

🔺 Doublin’ Down. Two weeks. Four awards. Not a bad start, we’d have to say.

For the second straight week, the Mason track & field squads took home two Atlantic 10 weekly accolades.

Paul McClain was announced as the Track Performer of the Week and Bobby Kestyn was named the Field Performer of the Week.

🔺 Risin’ Up. Speaking of making first impressions, the Patriots did just that in Coach Skinn’s first season at the helm of his alma mater.

A key member of Skinn’s staff was recognized this week as associate head coach Steve Curran has been named to the Silver Waves Media 2024 100 Rising Stars: Mid Major Assistants List.

It's the third time Curran has been recognized by Silver Waves Media in his collegiate coaching career. He also garnered recognition as one of the nation's "most impactful mid-major assistant coaches" in both 2020 and again in 2022.

18 years ago, it was a time, we’d never forget.

Mason Madness took over not just the Mid-Atlantic region, but the entire country.
