📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Westward Bound. It’s been quite a year for the Green & Gold and it’s not even over yet.

Next week, Mason’s own Walt Bannerman will add to his impressive 2024 resume by adding NCAA Championship participant to his accomplishments.

At last week’s NCAA East Prelims, he cleared 5.32m and finished inside the top-12 out of the 48 performers to punch his ticket to Eugene, Oregon.

Now, he’ll head west to compete in the pole vault finals at 8 pm EST on Wednesday, June 5th.

🔺 Taking The Reins. After spending the past five seasons with the Patriots, Jamie Greenwood has now officially been given the reins.

After serving as the interim coach for the swimming & diving program during the 2023-24 season, Greenwood was promoted to the full-time head coach by Marvin Lewis last week.

"During his year as our interim head coach, Jamie demonstrated that he was the perfect leader to continue to direct our men's & women's swimming program," said Lewis.  "Our student-athletes responded extremely well to Jamie and were energized by his holistic approach.  The team's individual and collective success in the pool is a testament to Jamie's hard work, collaborative approach and steadfast commitment to our program.  We are excited for Jamie's new opportunity and encouraged about the bright future ahead for our George Mason men's and women's swimming programs."

The Patriots have performed very well under the tutelage of Greenwood.

In 2019-20, Greenwood helped guide the Patriots' men's team to the 2020 Atlantic 10 Championship, the first title in program history. The two teams account for nine top-5 finishes during his tenure, including four times as runners-up on the men's side.
