Good Morning Mason Nation. On a weekend that our country celebrates part of its history, it only seems right that the Patriots make some history of their own.

We had not one, but ✌️ Green & Gold squads etch their name in the record books and that was just the beginning!

🔺 20/20 Vision. This season, the Mason women’s hoops program is celebrating 50 years of program history.

It seems only fitting that this year’s squad continues to climb in the record books and Saturday, the Green & Gold marked just the sixth time in program history that they’ve reached 20+ wins in a season.

Battling injuries over the past few weeks, the Patriots grinded their way to a 60-57 thriller over local rival George Washington to improve to 20-5 overall and sit in prime position for a possible top-four seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

Junior Paula Suárez had one of the best games of her career, matching career-highs in points (16), assists (6), field goals (6) and three-pointers made (4). She also added four rebounds and two steals. Senior Jazmyn Doster also had her best game of the season, posting a season-high 17 points, along with a team-high eight rebounds.

🔺 We Rollin’. Anytime you’re accomplishing something that hasn’t been done since before you were born, it’s pretty sweet.

For the 2024 Mason women’s lacrosse squad, the start of their season has been pretty sweet. The Patriots rolled to a third straight win to improve to 3-0, the best start for the program since 2000, before any member of this year’s roster was born.

Veteran leader Shannon Tuozzo continued her hot start to the season with her four goals, three caused turnovers and six draw controls helping lift the Green & Gold to a 13-6 road defeat of Kent State.

🔺 Jersey Boys. Move over Bruce Springsteen. There’s some new Kings of NJ.

The 17th-ranked Mason men’s volleyball rolled to a weekend sweep in the Garden State with 3-1 win at NJIT on Friday and a clean 3-0 victory at FDU on Saturday.

Junior Colin Heath was the offensive star of the weekend, combining for 22 kills in the two matches, while Omar Hoyos showed his versatility with 17 digs, 17 kills and six aces.

This Wednesday, one of the biggest games in recent EagleBank Arena history is on the docket when nationally-ranked and A-10 leading Dayton visits Fairfax to take on the Patriots.
