For just the second time in program history, the Mason men’s volleyball team earned double-digit victories at home without a loss, picking up a complete weekend sweep of Harvard at the RAC with wins of 3-0 on Friday and Saturday night.
Senior Omar Hoyos had a big weekend for the Green & Gold with 28 kills in the two matches as he wrapped up his home collegiate career. Defensively, Paul Wyszynski racked up 19 digs, while Troy McDonald dished out 59 assists in the two victories.
🔺 Winning Weekend. Every weekend series is important. But conference rivalry weekends? Those mean a little more.
The Mason baseball team picked up a big series victory, bouncing back to claim wins in the second and third game of the weekend against George Washington, 5-2 on Saturday and 13-10 on Sunday.
Sophomore James Quinn-Irons had two multi-hit performances on the weekend to pace the offensive attack.
🔺 Invite Only. It’s always pretty cool when you’re included on “the list.”
No matter walk of life, seeing your name on a list is pretty special and women’s hoops senior Sonia Smith got that opportunity this past weekend as she was a part of the Premier WNBA Combined sponsored by ProHoops in Cleveland.
The guard out of Upper Marlboro, Md. was tabbed as the Atlantic 10's Most Improved Player and was named to the Atlantic 10 First Team, a first for the program since 2019.
Smith averaged 15.2 points per game, shooting 40 % from the field, including 32% from three-point range. She scored in double-figures in all but four games this season and registered seven 20+ scoring performance, including a career-high 30 points at Duquesne. She also pulled down 3.2 rebounds, dished 3.1 assists, and had 1.1 steals per game.

Mason Madness took over not just the Mid-Atlantic region, but the entire country.
