Five different Patriots earned a spot in the NCAA postseason, marking the third time in past four years that Mason has had five or more competitors in the NCAA East First Round.

🔺 A Class Act. For the past four years, Marlaina Bozek’s impact on the Mason softball program was felt immensely, both on and off the field.
Her legacy will last far beyond her time on the diamond.
This week, she was named an Atlantic 10 Postgraduate Scholarship Honoree. Bozek, along with 14 other A-10 honorees, will receive $5,000 which will go towards full-time enrollment in a postgraduate or professional program.
The prestigious award is given to one graduating student-athlete in each school in the conference. The Class of 2024 comprised of 11 female & four male student-athletes spanning across eight sports with a collective GPA of 3.74.
Bozek is a three-time Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete, has appeared on the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll three times and was named a 2024 Peter N. Stearns Provost Scholar Athlete in March. She posted a 3.75 GPA this past semester and graduated last week with a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology.
The Washington, Pa., native will be applying to medical school later in the month with plans of graduating with a medical degree in 2029. She ultimately has aspirations of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.
