🔺 NOT DONE YET. The historic season for Mason’s women’s basketball team isn’t over yet.
Late Sunday night, the Patriots got their invitation to the WBIT.
After a 23-6 regular season, Mason earned a spot in the postseason and will head to battle Penn State on Thursday in State College.
First round play is scheduled for Thursday, March 21, with the second round playing March 24. Quarterfinals will be held on March 28 with four teams advancing to Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University for the semifinals on Monday, April 1. The WBIT will conclude with the inaugural championship game on Wednesday, April 3.
🔺 History Maker. When Omar Hoyos arrived on campus back in 2021, his impact was immediate.
Now, four years later, the senior etched his name in program history reaching the exclusive 1,000 kill club to lead the Mason men’s volleyball team to a weekend sweep to remain perfect at home this season.
The 17th-ranked Patriots are now 11-7 on the season and a perfect 5-0 at home.
In the weekend sweep of Mount Olive, Hoyos unleashed 33 kills to become just the 13th player in program history to reach the milestone.
🔺 Double Dippin’. It may have been the weekend, but the Mason track & field squads weren’t resting at all.
The Patriots competed in not one, but ✌️meets over the weekend, the Black and Gold Invite was a two-day event hosted by UCF and the Dan Stimson Memorial Invitational was a one-day event hosted by William and Mary.
⛳️ OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME
The George Mason Men’s Golf Team is competing in the first-ever Lyons Link Collegiate Invitational in Dublin, Ireland in September 2024 hosted by Wake Forest University.
This is a spectacular event played on one of the world’s most spectacular golf courses.
