📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Feeling 22. What A Senior Salute!

The senior class of the Mason women’s hoops team is going out in style.

Facing the A-10’s leading squad, the Patriots leaned on their veterans en route to a thrilling 82-76 overtime win over Richmond on Saturday afternoon when they celebrated their three seniors.

The win improves the Green & Gold to 22-5 on the season, the second-highest single-season win total in program history.

It was a day that Taylor Jameson will remember forever as the senior scored a season-high 19 points, while joining the 1,000-point club and moving into the top-10 all-time in program history in career 3-pointers.

Classmate Sonia Smith continued her superb season with a game-high 23 points and Jazymn Doster, the Patriots third senior, grabbed three rebounds to move into ninth all-time in program history.

🔺 Medalin’ Up. The suitcases of the Mason track & field squads are coming home a bit heavier this weekend.

At this weekend’s A-10 Indoor Championships, the Patriots brought home a total of 17 medals including four golds, five silvers and eight bronze. Overall, the men’s squad finished second and the women’s placed third in the team standings.

🔺 Five Stars. The ink wasn’t even dry yet and the Mason women’s lacrosse team is already changing the record books once again.

A 19-goal outburst led the Patriots to a fifth straight win to start the season, extending the best start in program history with the 19-11 road victory at Gardner-Webb on Sunday afternoon.

In the past two games, the Green & Gold have combined for 39 goals, the most in a two-game stretch since March of 2018 when they scored 41 in back-to-back wins over ODU and George Washington.

Senior sensation Shannon Tuozzo continued her torrid start with a season-high six goals, two assists and eight points to go along with five draw controls and four ground balls.

Joining Tuozzo in the hat trick party were Morgan Gunn (4) and Kaitlyn Bestick (3), who both tallied their first hat tricks of the year.

🔺 Circle of Trust. For Mason’s softball team, the circle took over when they needed it.

On the final day of a rain-soaked UNCW Tournament, the Patriots hurlers allowed ZERO earned runs in 16 innings to help the Green & Gold grab two victories, first a 9-2 win over Providence followed by a 1-0 shutout of UMBC.

Carly Cooper allowed just five hits while striking out six for the W in game one as she gave way to Harlowe Nigh, who pitched a scoreless final frame. In the nightcap, freshman sensation Kylie Wilkerson threw nine shutout innings to help Mason earn the extra inning victory.
