🔼 Save The Dates. Last week, we gave you a little appetizer announcing the Jacksonville tournament for the Green and Gold.

Now, it’s the main entree portion.

Block off those calendars. We promise you, you won’t want to miss this!

🔼 Court Is In Session. “Tomorrow, Tomorrow, It’s Only A Dayyyy Aaawaayyy”

Two games on Saturday, American at 2 pm and Georgetown at 7 pm, along with a Sunday showdown with Howard (2 pm) gives the Mason faithful plenty of chance to check them out.

Saturday night’s contest with Georgetown will be Freshmen Night at the RAC with plenty of giveaways and fun ahead!

🔼 Dog Fight. Scrappy.

That’s the only word you can use to describe Thursday night’s season opener for Mason’s men’s soccer team as they showed resilience and nearly came away with a point, but dropped a hard-fought battle with UMBC, 4-3.

22 minutes into the game, UMBC was out to a 3-0 lead, but Mason would chip away with a goal from Nicholas Prioli in the 27th minute to make it 3-1 at the break.

Less than 15 minutes into the second half, Abdul Kamara would score his first collegiate goal to bring the Patriots within one, and less than two minutes later Henry Wachsman would even the score at 3-3 in the 62nd minute.

The difference maker came less than two minutes later when UMBC drew a PK inside the box and put it away to make it 4-3, a lead they would hold on to for the final 25 minutes of the contest.

Mason’s men’s soccer returns to the pitch next Thursday when they travel to Charlottesville to take on #15 UVA.

🔼 On The Road Again. Mason’s women’s soccer team will be happy to be back in Fairfax after a tough road trip to NC ended up with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of a potent East Carolina squad.

The Patriots return home on Sunday to host #5 Virginia.

🔼 Christmas in August. Opening Day and Gear Day.

If you’re playing Family Feud and the category is “Most popular days of the year for college athletes”, those would be the top two responses.

Mason’s Women’s Basketball team received its Christmas in August to prepare them for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
