Bond Posts Strong Showing To Lead Patriots On The Course

Good Morning Patriots. Maybe some were stirred up or shaken by the conditions, but not senior Wesley Bond.

Bond is making the most of his last season in the Green & Gold and was among the best in a strong field this weekend on the course in Pennsylvania.

šŸ– different Patriots squads were in action and weā€™ve got all the details.

What all is stirring in todayā€™s Brew? Check it out!

šŸ“ˆ STOCK UP

šŸ”¼Ā Weeee Readdyyy. 3ļøāƒ£5ļøāƒ£ days.

Thatā€™s all that separates Masonā€™s womenā€™s basketball squad and the start of the 2023-24 season.

Check out how the Green and Gold are grinding on the court with their preseason preparations.

šŸ”¼Ā Behind the Curtain. How do we get all the hard-hitting news from the Patriots?

We gotta get the inside scoop from our guy Keyshawn Hall.

Take it away Key!

šŸ”¼Ā Thatā€™s Bond, Wesley Bond. Sloppy conditions. Elite field.

Thatā€™s a perfect time for Bond, Wesley Bond.

The senior from Virginia Beach put together one of his best performances of his career with a top-10 finish in a field that had over 400 runners in it.

On the womenā€™s side, Kate Oā€™Neill earned a top-40 finish to lead the Green & Goldā€™s weekend performance.

šŸ”¼Ā Golden Hearts. While the results on the court werenā€™t what the Patriots wanted, this weekend was so much more than volleyball.

Masonā€™s volleyball team hosted their ā€œGold Outā€ weekend, sporting gold t-shirts during warm-ups and partnering with the Codyā€™s Crew Foundation, to bring awareness to so many families and children impacted each year.
Ā
Approximately 1,800 children lose their battle to cancer each year in the United States. Cody Johnson was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma on his second birthday and battled until March 6, 2009. Since 2009, the Johnson family has run the Cody's Crew Foundation to support other children battling cancer across the world and has donated close to $500,000 to The Children's Oncology Group located in California.

šŸ”¼Ā Not So Brotherly Love. Masonā€™s menā€™s soccer team had a tough road test on Saturday night, but a second-half goal by La Salle proved to be the different as the Patriots dropped a 2-1 decision to the Explorers. Freshman Kelly Janssen scored his first collegiate goal in the contest for the Green & Gold.

Next up is a Wednesday night home contest against the Rams of Rhode Island. Kickoff is set for 7 pm.

šŸ”¼Ā Sunday Showdown. It was a picture perfect day on the pitch and the Patriots battled to the final whistle, but an early goal by the visiting Rams of Rhode Island and two more second half goals proved to be enough as URI defeated the Green & Gold, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon in Fairfax.

Mason will be back on the road this week to Philadelphia, where they will finish the suspended match against Saint Joeā€™s on Wednesday and play La Salle on Saturday.
