🏀 TOURNEY TIME

That’s right. The time has come.

Tournament time is here.

The fourth-seeded Mason women’s hoops team is set to kick off action in the 2024 Atlantic 10 Tournament later today when they take on fifth-seeded Duquesne at 1:30 pm at the Henrico Sports & Event Center.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Rhode To Victory. With the end of his collegiate career on the horizon, senior Darius Maddox is making sure to leave it all on the floor.

The veteran’s big night and a stifling defensive effort helped the Patriots pick up a big road win on Wednesday night, 69-51, at Rhode Island.

Maddox led the way offensively with a game-high 21 points, including a career-high five three-pointers. He also added six rebounds and two steals, while Amari Kelly added 18 points and six rebounds.

The victory gives George Mason 19 regular season wins for just the third time in the past 11 seasons. 

🔺 In Elite Company. What a year it’s been for the Mason women’s hoops team.

The accolades, the records, the wins and so much more.

Another honor was earned this week as Vanessa Blair-Lewis was named a finalist for the 2024 Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Award.

This is the inaugural season of the award, and the award is named after the legendary former Harvard head coach.

🔺 Meet Us At The Mats. The women’s hoops squad isn’t the only one on a hunt for a title this weekend.

Mason’s wrestling squad hit the mats starting later today in Kent, Ohio to compete in the Mid-American Conference Championships.

In its fifth season in the MAC, Mason finished the season with an 11-9 record. It’s the second consecutive season the Green & Gold have 11 wins, which ties the most wins in a season since the 2007-08 season when the Patriots finished with a 13-5 record. 

🔺 Filled Up In Fairfax. Another weekend in Fairfax. Another JAM PACKED schedule of opportunities to root on the Patriots.

While Mason has plenty of teams battling for conference titles, the home slate is full with three different teams in action.

Baseball is back on the diamond with three-game set with Monmouth. A double header today starting at 11 a.m., followed by a Sunday finale at 1 pm at Spuhler Field.

The 17th-ranked men’s volleyball team has two home matches on the docket with 7 pm tilt with NJIT tonight and 5 pm showdown with FDU tomorrow.

Lastly, the red-hot women’s lacrosse team welcomes perennial A-10 contender UMass on Saturday at 12 p.m.
