🔼 Hoop Dreams. It’s been over six months since we last saw the Mason hoops squads on the hardwood.

Now, we’re just 40 days away.

Both teams returned to the hardwood for the first official practices of the 2023-24 season as the Patriots prepare to make noise in the Atlantic 10 this season.

🔼 More Than A Match. This Friday is more than just an Atlantic 10 match for the Mason volleyball team.

Sure, they want to go to 3-0 in league play, but more importantly, they want to raise awareness for childhood cancer.

The Patriots have partnered with the Cody’s Crew Foundation, to bring awareness to so many families and children impacted each year.

During Friday's game against Saint Louis, the Patriots will be wearing gold t-shirts as warmup shirts and fans are also encouraged to help "Gold Out" the gym and wear gold of their own.
 
Approximately 1,800 children lose their battle to cancer each year in the United States. Cody Johnson was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma on his second birthday and battled until March 6, 2009. Cody enjoyed playing soccer, pirates, motorcycles, and going to the beach. Since 2009, the Johnson family has run the Cody's Crew Foundation to support other children battling cancer across the world and has donated close to $500,000 to The Children's Oncology Group located in California.

🔼 Three’s Company. Collegiate tennis in the fall is typically filled with individual bracket play throughout weekend tournaments, so winning one flight for the weekend is always good.

Winning three though? That’s big time and exactly what the Green & Gold did this past weekend as the women’s tennis squad’s Ruju Chauhan, Maitree Rout and Lakshya Motam won their respective flights, while Cenan Liu and Lauren Splett were runners-up at the Bedford Cup, hosted by the University of Maryland.

🌟 THE MADNESS RETURNS!

There’s an excitement building in the air and that excitement will reach fever pitch on Friday, Oct. 13th.

Mason Madness is BACK!

On Friday, October 13 at 7 p.m., EagleBank Arena will host the official kick-off to George Mason men's and women's basketball season. Mason Madness is presented by The Main on University. The Main on University is Mason Nations Official Student Housing Partner Located across from the Field House just steps from campus.
 
Mason fans will be introduced to the student-athletes from each team and hear from new men's basketball head coach Tony Skinn ('06) and women's basketball head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis. Each team also will take part in a scrimmage on the EagleBank Arena floor.
 
In addition, Mason Athletics will welcome back the Green Machine for performances throughout the evening. The event also will feature performances from Mason Spirit and a variety of George Mason student organizations.
 
Mason Madness is free for all attendees and no ticket is required. The first 2000 fans in attendance will receive a complimentary Mason glow stick!

Also on hand at Mason Madness will be Uber Eats, the Virginia Army National Guard and many other proud partners of Patriot Athletics.
