🔺 Ticket Puncher. Taking home two conference titles in the same year is a pretty good season.
That wasn’t enough for Mason’s Walt Bannerman as the sophomore added to his impressive 2023-24 resume by adding NCAA Championship participant to his accomplishments.
On Wednesday, he cleared 5.32m and finished inside the top-12 out of the 48 performers at NCAA East Prelims to punch his ticket to Eugene, Oregon.

🔺 Complimenting Connor. For a second straight season, Connor Dykstra earned his spot among the Atlantic 10’s best.
Earlier this week, Dykstra was named the A-10’s top catcher with a spot on the First Team All-Conference squad.
Dykstra, a native of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada, played in 51 games with 50 starts during the 2024 season for the Patriots. He hit .283 (49-for-173) and was second on the club in doubles (12), tied for third in both home runs (6) and walks (18), fourth in RBI (31) and tied for fifth in hits (49).

🔺 Class Acts. Over the past two seasons, the Mason softball program has had quite a laundry list of success on the diamond.
That success hasn’t stayed just on the diamond as the Patriots piled up another huge year in the classroom earning a 3.78 grade point average for the 2023-24 academic calendar.
Well done ladies!

🤔 PATRIOT TRIVIA

Playing the catcher position isn’t for everyone, but obviously Connor Dykstra was built for it.
The junior backstop earned his second straight A-10 First team accolade this spring and has become as solid of a part of the Patriots’ lineup as anyone over the past three seasons.
Of the 172 games that Mason has played over the past three years, how many times has Dykstra been the starting catcher?
