Ok ok, no singing will be required, but there will be plenty of holiday spirit when the Mason men’s basketball team hosts a special showing of “Elf” on December 17th.

Patriot fans and families can join the men’s squad from 3-6pm at University Mall Theaters.

Pictures with the team will be available and a surprise visit from the Mason Basketball Santa and his elves!

🔺 Turning Up The Heat. With a one-point lead at the break, the Mason men’s basketball team turned up the Patriot Pressure en route to a 6-1 start, its best start the 2007-08 season.

The Green & Gold used a big second half to pull away from NJIT on Wednesday night in a 86-68 victory in front of a raucous EagleBank Arena crowd.

Senior Ronald Polite III paced the Green & Gold with season highs in points (18), assists (6) and steals (3).

Classmate Darius Maddox poured in 17 points and dished out four assists, while veteran Amari Kelly record his second double-double of the year with 11 points and 11 boards.

🔺 Impacting The Next Generation. During her time in Fairfax, Keri Chaconas impacted the game in so many ways.

Now, she’s impacting the future of the game in a different way.

Keri (Chaconas) Holm ('96) finished her George Mason career as one of the most decorated players in program history. As a Patriot, she finished with 1,747 points, 439 assists, 376 rebounds, 218 3-pointers made and 169 steals. She was a First Team All-CAA honoree in 1995 and 1996 and a Second Team All-CAA in honoree in 1994. Chaconas is still the program record holder in several categories, including points in a game, field goals made, free throws made, free throw percentage and 3-pointers made.

Over the next few months, Mason women’s basketball and the athletic department will be celebrating 50 seasons of the program throughout the 2023-24 season. Stay tuned for Q&As, features, memories and so much more!
