🔼 Wake Up Call. George Mason is facing Wake Forest today for their first game at the Winston-Salem Regional. Yes, the Demon Deacons are the No. 1 team in college baseball, but there is still plenty of reasons to believe that the Patriots can hang with the best of them.

But before tonight’s first pitch, how does George Mason match up against Wake Forest and what are the keys to the game?

🌊 Ride The Wave

George Mason is finishing their season with a lot of momentum—winning 18 of their last 24 games and most recently winning an Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship title. Wake Forest, meanwhile, can’t say the same. The Demon Deacons lost their regular season finale to Virginia Tech and got knocked out of the ACC Baseball Championship by Miami.

🎁 Take What’s Theirs

The Patriots rank fourth in Division I baseball in stolen bases (158 in 59 games) and it’s the most of any team in the Winston-Salem Regional. Only VMI (192), Mississippi Valley (162), and Louisiana (161) have more. Senior infielder/outfielder South Trimble is tied for 25th in the nation (30 in 58 games) and junior outfielder Derek Wood is tied for 29th in the nation (29 in 59 games).

🔼 Grace Under Fire. Grace Furlong has been named to the Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team and six student-athletes have been named to the All-Rookie Team.

This is Furlong's third A-10 All-Academic nomination and second this year.

The Waterford, Ireland native is pursuing her Master's in Public Administration. She finished 41st at NCAA Regionals, recording 12.25 meters in her triple jump. Earlier in the season, she notched the silver in the A-10 Championship (12.67m) and grabbed third at the Meet of Champions and fourth at the IC4A/ECAC Championships (11.88m, 12.56m).

💪 All-Rookie Team

Micah Jones, Robbie Jenkins, Albert Asare, Aidan Walcott, and Walter Bannerman were named from the men’s side—Teneal Els made the women's team.
