🔼 Coming Soon To A Court Near You. All the summer blockbusters have come and gone. Now it’s time for a new main event.

Coming soon to courts near you will be the Mason women’s basketball squad, who had their 2023-24 schedule finalized this week with the release of the Atlantic 10 conference slate.

Highlight the Green and Gold’s slate is four home/home pairings and a national TV appearance for a program on the rise and ready to make noise in the A-10.

The regular season schedule all leads to the 2024 Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Championship, beginning on March 6, at the Henrico Sports & Entertainment Center outside of Richmond, Va.

🔼 Busting Up The Web. Not sure if the Mason women’s soccer team had been big Earth, Wind and Fire fans before, but they might be now.

The Patriots got a thrilling 1-0 road victory at Richmond yesterday to pick up their first victory of the 2023 campaign after battling through a challenging slate and adversity in the first month of the season.

Senior Ashley Shimberg scored her first goal of the season and third of her Mason career in the 24th minute

The rest was up to Ginny Frank as the freshman tallied six saves for her first collegiate shutout.

🔼 Leaders Of The Pack. Mason Athletics has always looked for ways to innovate and be leaders in every way possible.

The Patriots’ women’s lacrosse program has done just that.

Patriot Performance Lab and Strength and Conditioning coach Corey Dulak-Sigler has helped the Green & Gold be a part of a first-of-its-kind study on workload demands of NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse student-athletes using the Catapult Load Monitoring system.

🌟 THE MADNESS RETURNS!

There’s an excitement building in the air and that excitement will reach fever pitch on Friday, Oct. 13th.

Mason Madness is BACK!

On Friday, October 13 at 7 p.m., EagleBank Arena will host the official kick-off to George Mason men's and women's basketball season. Mason Madness is presented by The Main on University. The Main on University is Mason Nations Official Student Housing Partner Located across from the Field House just steps from campus.
 
Mason fans will be introduced to the student-athletes from each team and hear from new men's basketball head coach Tony Skinn ('06) and women's basketball head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis. Each team also will take part in a scrimmage on the EagleBank Arena floor.
 
In addition, Mason Athletics will welcome back the Green Machine for performances throughout the evening. The event also will feature performances from Mason Spirit and a variety of George Mason student organizations.
 
Mason Madness is free for all attendees and no ticket is required. The first 2000 fans in attendance will receive a complimentary Mason glow stick!

Also on hand at Mason Madness will be Uber Eats, the Virginia Army National Guard and many other proud partners of Patriot Athletics.

Making Noise. As we mentioned above, the full Patriots women’s hoops schedule was finalized with the release of the A-10 slate.

Last year, the Green & Gold went 8-8 in conference play, the most conference victories for Mason since 2019.

The Patriots have been playing in conferences since 1985-86 when they joined the CAA. What is the all-time program record for conference wins in a single-season?
