⚾️ STRRRIKKKEEEE!
⭐ And much, much more!

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Let’s Pack The RAC. Last weekend, Mason’s volleyball squad gave us the first Ws of the 2023-24 athletic calendar.

The annual Mason Invite kicks off on Friday with the Patriots taking on the Bears of Brown University, marking the first meeting in nearly 40 years between the two programs. Mason will also take on Robert Morris (Friday at 7) and Radford (Saturday at 2) this weekend.

Last weekend, Gracie Halley eclipsed the 100-dig mark in just the sixth match of the season and leads the way defensively averaging 4.3 digs/set.

Halley helped the Patriots sweep Saint Peter’s on Saturday, which marked the first non-home sweep in almost five years.

🔼 Let’s Get It. National TV games, rivalry games, statement games.

Five national TV games, home dates with in-state rivals VCU and Richmond, and visits from perennial A-10 powers Saint Louis and Dayton all highlight a loaded slate.

🔼 Lock ‘Em In. Now that you’ve got the men’s games in the iPhone calendar, let’s add some more trips to the Patriots Center.

Mason’s women’s team unveiled their non-conference slate that features four home games and four more games within the Metro DC area, giving fans plenty of opportunities to catch a game!

🔼 Lots of Ball This Fall. As the fall squads are in full action, several of Mason’s spring programs have set their schedules to prepare for their seasons with fall play days.

Mason’s lacrosse squad will open things up next weekend when they compete in the annual DC vs. VA weekend at Springfield, taking on American and GW at the event. The Patriots will then host four different home dates throughout the fall as they prepare for the 2024 spring season.

🔼 Battle Tested. One thing is for sure. No one can ever say that the Mason’s women’s soccer team ever backed down from a challenge. Through the Patriots first seven games, they’ve faced two ACC programs and three reigning conference champions. On Thursday night, Mason dropped a tough 2-0 road decision to Maryland, their second ACC opponent in the past four games. The Green & Gold return home on Sunday to face Iowa at 12 p.m.

⚾️ WHAT A NIGHT!

Another year, another awesome night!

It was great seeing so many Green & Gold fans out at Nats Park for the annual Mason Night.

Coach Camp might need to check in to see if Marvin has any eligibility left for the bullpen next spring with that first pitch he threw!

🤔 PATRIOT TRIVIA

Diggin’ Deep. Just six games into her Mason career, grad student Gracie Halley is already making an immediate impact.

Averaging over four digs per set, Halley is over 100 digs for the season already and could be on pace to make a run at the single-season program mark in the category.

Who is the current single-season leader in digs in Mason’s program history?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Catie Espinoza.

Virginia Beach, Va. native Catie Espinoza is the “Dig Queen” for the Patriots, currently holding the top three single-season marks in digs and is currently the only player in program history to reach 440 or more digs, which she did three different times, including her career high and program record 483 in 2016.

Espinoza also holds the career record in digs with 1,513 from 2015-2018.
