The annual men's basketball bucket hat game returns on Feb. 18 when the Patriots host A-10 power Dayton! Wear black for the Black Out and be one of the first 2000 fans in the building to get your free black bucket hat. Lower bowl tickets start at under $15 (including fees). 🔼 Road Result. George Mason men’s basketball fell at George Washington 72-53 on Friday night. Masai Troutman led the Patriots with an A-10 season-high 15 points. Despite the loss, George Mason remains two games up in the race for an Atlantic 10 Championship double bye.
🔼 Hard Battle. George Mason women’s basketball fell to Rhode Island 79-63 on Friday at EagleBank Arena. Hawa Komara led the Patriots with 13 points and a career-high 16 rebounds, while Kennedy Harris and MJ Johnson each added 11.
The Patriots return to EagleBank Arena this afternoon to host Richmond in a key A-10 matchup. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
🔼 Opening Weekend. George Mason baseball opened the season at No. 23 Oregon, falling 6-2 on Friday, dropping Saturday’s doubleheader 14-5 and 14-4, then 11-1 in Sunday’s series finale. The Patriots saw home runs from Julius Bagnerise and Lucas Alberti, while Laken Tignor and Alberti each drove in multiple runs during the series.
🔼 Wrestling Rolling. George Mason wrestling earned a 26-18 MAC Senior Night win over Clarion, then edged Central Michigan 19-18 on Sunday in a tie-breaker thriller. Logan Messer and Malachi DuVall moved into the program’s Top 10 in career wins as the Patriots improved to 7-6 overall and 4-3 in MAC play.

🔼 Invitational Victories. Track & field earned four event victories at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational, highlighted on Opening Day by Kennedy Drish’s fourth pole vault win of the season and Ella Semple’s personal-best 3000m title. On Day Two of competition, Aidan Walcott captured the men’s 300m title, while Sarah Clark won the women’s mile with a personal best time of 5:01.26.
🔼 First Win Secured. Women’s lacrosse earned its first win of the season on Friday, topping Radford 12-7 at The St. James. Kate Anders led the way with five goals and four assists, tying a career-high. The Patriots followed it up with a dominant 17-6 victory at Youngstown State on Sunday, tallying five power-play goals and three hat tricks to improve to 3-2 on the season.
🔼 Strong Response. After falling in straight sets in Friday’s EIVA opener, George Mason men’s volleyball bounced back with a sweep of Charleston on Saturday to earn its first conference win of the season. Robert Evangelista led the way with 10 kills. The Patriots hit .361, recorded five aces, and out-blocked the Golden Eagles 12-8 to split the opening league weekend.
