Men's Basketball is the No. 5 seed in the A-10 Championship and opens play in the second round on Thursday at 2 p.m. inside PPG Paints Arena! 🔼 Top-25 Teeth. The men’s basketball team closed out the regular season with an 86-57 win over No. 25 Saint Louis! The Patriots held SLU’s top-10 scoring offense to 31 points below their average and limited their 3-point shooting to 16.7%. Jahari Long logged a game-high 21 points with nine assists. The win marked the largest margin of victory over a ranked team in school history and the largest margin of victory by an unranked team over a ranked opponent in all of college basketball this season. George Mason will open the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship as the No. 5 seed on Thursday.
🔼 Nail-Biter. George Mason women’s basketball narrowly lost to Rhode Island, 53-51, in the A-10 Championship. Despite a strong comeback effort, the Patriots fell short but secured an automatic bid to the WBIT tournament. They could also receive an at-large NCAA Tournament bid. Kennedy Harris and Zahirah Walton made the A-10 All-Tournament Team.
🔼 Moving On. Three George Mason wrestlers qualified for the NCAA Championships! Logan Messer won his first MAC Championship, while Malachi DuVall and DJ McGee earned second and third-place finishes, respectively.
🔼 Golden Girls. George Mason women’s lacrosse defeated La Salle 10-9 in overtime. Kaitlyn Bestick scored the game-winning goal in overtime, leading the Patriots to their first conference win. She finished the day with three goals and an assist. The Patriots will host Howard tomorrow at 4 p.m.
🔼 Series Secured. Patriot softball took two from Fordham for a series win over the preseason favorites! The two teams split Saturday’s doubleheader as GMU started the day with a 4-0 win. Abbey Lane threw a complete game shutout, allowing four hits and striking out one. They dropped game two, 9-2. The Patriots bounced back on Sunday with a 5-1 win to claim the series.
