🥎 Softball split the weekend

The Patriot Club Golf and Pickleball Outing brings George Mason supporters together for a day of competition and camaraderie in support of George Mason student-athletes. The event will be held at Chantilly National Golf and Country Club. Proceeds directly support the Patriot Club and enhance the student-athlete experience.

🔼 New Additions. George Mason women’s basketball has signed two women’s basketball transfers. Anovia Sheals was a standout player at Austin Peay, earning Second Team All-ASUN honors and being named to the ASUN All-Tournament Team. The Patriots also signed Fredericksburg native Desirae Ashton. She brings length, defensive presence, and resilience to the team after two seasons at Bucknell.

🔼 Winner, Winner. George Mason rowing’s Second Varsity 8+ boat won the grand final at the Mason Invitational, finishing ahead of Thomas Jefferson and Loyola (Md.). The V4+ and V8+ boats also competed, with the V4+ placing third in its petite final.

🔼 Strong Showing. George Mason golf finished runner-up at the 49th annual Rutherford Intercollegiate, their best finish in the tournament’s history. Vaughn McMeans led the team with a sixth-place finish, while Joe Johnson and JJ Powell tied for 23rd.

🔼 Split The Weekend. George Mason softball split a doubleheader against Villanova, losing the first game 6-1 and winning the second 11-3. In the first game, Villanova dominated with a four-run first inning. In the second game, George Mason’s offense exploded with a season-high 12 hits, led by Logan Pickford’s three hits, three runs scored, and four RBIs.

The Patriots will host Hampton tomorrow at 2 p.m.

🔼 That’s A Wrap. The men’s volleyball team concluded the regular season over the weekend as they dropped two to No. 15 Penn State. The Patriots finished the regular season with 20 wins for the first time since 2006.

They hold the No. 3 seed in the EIVA Tournament and will play No. 6 seed Princeton on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
