🥎 Softball run-rules
⚾️ Baseball hosts Towson

🔼 Road Run-Rule. Patriot softball defeated Towson 10-1 in a five-inning game. Meghan Gray led the Patriots with a season-high three hits and four RBIs, while Alyssa Rangel pitched four innings, allowing one run. George Mason will host St. Louis this weekend.

🔼 Afternoon Baseball. George Mason baseball hosts Towson today at 3 p.m. This will be the fifth game of the Patriots’ eight-game homestand. They look to bounce back from a series loss to Davidson over the weekend.

🔼 Gone Bananas. George Mason baseball’s Evan Blanchard, a senior majoring in Sport Management, completed a full-time internship with the George Mason Athletics Marketing Department. His responsibilities included devising marketing plans, coordinating game-day promotions, and executing a special project to boost basketball game attendance. The project involved collaborating with alumni and current Banana Ball players Danny Hosley and South Trimble for a pre-game autograph session and halftime entertainment, resulting in a significant increase in attendance.

🔼 Legacy Reimagined. Women’s volleyball player Nia Thompson felt a strong connection to the program despite her mother’s history there. Nia’s talent and dedication led her to excel on the court, earning her a spot on the A-10 All-Rookie Team and helping her team reach the A-10 Championship Tournament for the first time since 2018. Her mother, Amy, a former George Mason volleyball and basketball player, is proud of Nia’s accomplishments and optimistic about the team’s future.
