🔼 Tiger Tussle. An old rivalry will be renewed this December as the George Mason men’s hoops squad will square off with Towson as part of the Battle in Baltimore on December 19.
The event will be held at CFG Bank Arena in downtown Baltimore. The contest vs. Towson is part of a doubleheader, with Maryland and South Carolina meeting in the second game.
George Mason and Towson, former CAA rivals, have not met on the hardwood since the 2020-21 campaign. The Dec. 19 contest will mark the 45th between the two programs.
🔼 Home Sweet Home. The George Mason men’s soccer team will open its home slate on Thursday against in-state foe, William & Mary. The game will be played as scheduled and feature a season-opening carnival!
The carnival will include jugglers, stilt walkers, a balloon artist, face painter, bounce house and more! The postgame fireworks originally scheduled for Thursday’s game have been postponed due to the potential for thunderstorms in the forecast.
The fireworks show will be moved to the men’s soccer Family Weekend game vs. GW on Saturday, October 17 at 7 p.m.
🔼 Poll Position. With the season opener just days away, the George Mason Volleyball team has high expectations coming off last season’s breakout year.
Last year, the Patriots had their best season in over 15 years, raising the bar for this fall, in which the Green & Gold were selected fourth in this year’s Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll.
It is the highest preseason ranking since the Patriots joined the Atlantic 10.
🔼 Opening Act. Women's volleyball is fresh off its best season in more than a decade and hosts Big Ten foe Northwestern for a huge early season home game.
Come wear your green and cheer on the Patriots to victory! Admission at the RAC is free and no ticket is required!
🔼 On Tour. The next stop on the Coaches Caravan tour is Wednesday at Farm Brewery at Broad Run! Join Rich Costanzo, Megan Shifflett Bachmann, Stephen Curtis, James (Jimmy) Davis, Joseph Richards, and Vanessa Blair-Lewis from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is free.
